A Manly Trip

We enjoyed our day of family adventure, visiting an Indian cave, checking out the river nearby (plus snake), exploring (very briefly) the tiny abandoned town on the park grounds . . . and when you do these things, you sometimes need to use the restroom. And sometimes, when you've never been to the park before you ask for directions. And sometimes the volunteers don't know what they are talking about . . . for instance, "Oh, so you want like a flush toilet?" befuddled look . . . third drive on the left. Okay, yes, those we found but they are still CLOSED for the season (shouldn't she have known that?) Sooo, we took the fourth left . . . outhouse lane . . .

I had to convince myself, nothing was crawling up to bite me bottom . . . the boys at least got to stand. Then as we continue on our journey through said park, we discover nearly EVERY outhouse like one we so bravely visited is being REPLACED with lovely, clean-looking, hard-sided restrooms (no swinging wooden doors). "Oops," says my husband, "I think we visited the worst one in the whole park." Lol :) ADVENTURE!

We also ate lunch in a tiny town . . . and were almost trapped by an extra-wide load that blocked the entire bridge out of town--our only escape! All the police vehicles made us feel plenty safe, hee hee :) And we were on our way to explore the woods (while the woods were still free!)

There are hammocks in the woods we visit :)

Colorado

We took the world's fastest--and slowest--trip to Colorado for Buck's stepmom's memorial service. I say fastest, because it took...
