Easter Blessings!

In church we said, "He is Risen!" to which everyone responded, "He is Risen, indeed!" What a joyful day :)

We started the morning slowly . . . Buck cooked up some pancakes (bunny shaped for the kids), while they hunted for their Easter baskets. We may have gotten a little too tricky for the boys, who weren't as interested in the challenge as they were in the candy :) Our oldest however wanted something that would take awhile, and boy did it! Her dad had to construct a hide-out for her basket of celebration gifts (out of giant blocks in the classroom). Good times hunting for Easter baskets around here :)

We were somehow almost late for church, even though we decided to wait for a later service than we normally attend. It might be because I realized the orange cream pie I wanted to make for the afternoon's dessert needed four hours in the freezer to set up, and so G$ and I were tossing our mandarins trying to get that pie put together a.s.a.p. (Next time, I would cut the frozen orange juice in half . . . a bit tangy, that pie :)

The kids sat in church with us . . . they were slightly alarmed when they glanced down the row to see their dad nodding off (it was really warm and we got up early and he was wearing a jacket). The alarm came when the pastor read, "O you who have fallen asleep in Christ, you will be lost!" Ha! I don't think that's the kind of sleep the Bible was talking about, but it sure was funny timing :)

After church, we started prepping for a 3:00 lunch/supper. The ham smelled so good, you wanted to lick the air! Sooo good! We made Grandma Beryl's rice, and fancy eggs; B brought mashed potatoes, Hawaiian King rolls (delish!), and that massive ham from his store. We dined . . . it was lovely.

Then outside everyone went, to run in the sun, kick the new soccer ball, and play with the neighbor kids. We visited with neighbors and goofed around until the sun set. Then we grown-ups watched the last Hobbit movie and sampled a few Easter goodie leftovers.

So thankful for our friends, family, and most of all  . . . our faith! He is Risen! He is Risen, indeed!

(My pictures posted in the middle; some of them are from the Easter egg hunt at karate and the Easer hunt and activities at church, another is me goofing around with the boys taking "selfies" Fun weekend!)

Colorado

We took the world's fastest--and slowest--trip to Colorado for Buck's stepmom's memorial service. I say fastest, because it took...
