Party Time!

I am discovering that our friends the K's have a lot of spring birthdays--in fact, all five of them celebrate in a span of three months. This means we were invited to celebrate the 4th birthday of a very bright boy. Some girls our girls know from church also attended the celebration, as did their music instructor and his wife. Mrs. K was trying to decide which children to invite, and I told her we always celebrate with family and friends when they're young--these are the most important people in our/their lives. The parents have fun, the children have fun--win, win! :)





I realize now, I chose three very similar pictures to post :) I also think it is funny how the K's leave their birthday sign up for three months and just change the name--very similar to how ours morph from Gabby, to Buck, to Chauncey (or Dog), to sometimes Auntie Z and/or Grandma, and even to Happy Mother's Day on occasion!

I guess I didn't post the picture of the kids absolutely cracking up . . . the K's have cups that say "Oh" on the inside rim with a poop emoji on the outside. Once the cake was served, the frosting was so sweet that the little boys were practically begging for water. But to do so--"Mom! I need my poop cup! Mooooom, can you get me my poop cup, please! Mom, put some water in my poop cup." My crew and the other teen girls were literally doubled over with laughter :)

We were first to arrive at the party and first to leave, as Buck was returning from 10 days straight at work and with a carload of groceries to boot. It was good to spend time with friends celebrating a boy who loves to bowl :)

Parlez-vous . . . Algebra?

This French painting kid showed up in my classroom with a question about Algebra . . . IDK . . . wandered into the wrong homeschooling country, maybe? :)

The Cardboard Kid is Back in Action

I don't know how he comes up with this stuff--but G$ requested cardboard from his dad and was delighted to receive an abundant supply. He'd decided to build a tank in his room--one that he could sit in! I can hardly keep him in school because he's so eager to go engineer with his paper and tape. Wowza!

He and Brennen rigged the navigation panel to lift so they can put flashlights under it. They've got a map and all kinds of important buttons ready for action. Seriously amazed at the way their creative minds work!

So . . . what did you do at work today?

Each year, Buck's business helps raise funds for medically challenged little ones. He seems to have a variety of roles in this process . . . one of them involved getting a face full of chocolate cream pie six times in one day :)

So, this is the "triplet" of Buck's *twin* at work.

Buck sent the kids this picture, and I kid you not, "Dad got another pie in the face!" Uh--that's Mr. Drew. Even the kids get them mixed up now! :)

Hockey Time

I won't post every hockey game, but this time I did get a couple of action shots :) The weather was significantly more pleasant than the season opener. Our boys were pumped (Brennen actually wore socks that said, "pumped up!")

It was quickly clear that our team had the advantage in this game--as four goals sailed into the opponents' net during the first minute. The fellows running the board stopped keeping score before the first period was over. I think at the end of the game, the score was something like 17-3 . . . mixed in there was an offensive goal by G$ and a defensive goal by B (those are his favorite, best of both worlds :)

And to me, the funniest moment of the game (other than Graysen breaking out his phenom dancing goalie skills in the first period :) was the coach on the other team yelling repeatedly to one of his players, "Come on SERENITY . . . be aggressive!!" I guess he doesn't own a dictionary :) English jokes make me laugh ;)

Puzzling . . .

Yesterday they reentered the world of puzzling! I've been trying to get them to do a puzzle all winter . . . but apparently they needed new ones--give me strength! Our closets are bursting with puzzles I've forgotten existed, surely they can redo a done one :) Thanks to Grandma J for this fun one (of which I did not put in a single piece because it was dumped on the table--and then together . . . just about that fast!)

So this afternoon they dumped out another puzzle, this time from Uncle C and Aunt L. As if we did nothing else, like play outside, eat dinner, read school books, and go to a hockey game . . .

They finished it!!! I did get to help a little this time :)

Twins!?

Buck and his co-worker are often mistaken for each other . . . seriously!! They got this twinsies picture while Buck was trying out a high-end massage chair to help his back (we're not getting one, they cost as much as buying a car :) Just thought you'd enjoy a picture of Buck's *look-a-like* . . . do you see the resemblance? Must be the beard ;)
