On the weekend, we packed up the van and zoomed over to Maga’s house. Grandpa B flew home from the land of sunshine and palm trees, but caught a bug and spent the first part of the day in bed. We were happy to meet C’s sweetheart . . . he thinks he’s so sneaky, but I told him to bring someone along. I reminded him of this, and I think it’s such a nice thing that he listens to his sister ;) We all enjoyed getting to know L, and she impressed me by remembering all the kids names and knowing who to call what. Little niecey G crowned her, then snuggled right up to play some video games on my mom’s phone.
We also celebrated . . . five birthdays? Wait six . . . it
was a lot of names to fit in one round of the birthday song. Noodles for lunch,
cake and donuts for dessert, piles of presents for birthdays and Christmas,
kids roller-skating—oh wait, those were ours—through the kitchen, cousins,
nieces and nephews acting goofy, playing together, talking, laughing, whew! It
was a fun day, and it was nice when dad felt well enough to come down for some
conversation.
