Technically Caelan has three dresses--one she wore for prom, two others waiting in the wings. Gabby has a call into our former neighbor who said we could borrow dresses for dances. But we found out our favorite clearance center isn't quite out of business yet (and is still getting trucks of new things), so we just had to stop by. Everything is 50% off!Caelan's jaw dropped. All the long, flowy dresses that were not there for her prom shopping were LINING the walls for the fall dances. She couldn't resist trying them on (and may have purchased one that is exactly what she imagined for prom in the first place :)
Gabby wanted something short and fun. She tried on probably a dozen, but I only got to see a handful. Here are a couple that she liked. She ended up with two--one for $8 the other for $12--that's my kind of formal dress shopping :)
The dressing room area was a little microcosm of culture as we shared space with a family from India speaking their heart language, three ladies from Africa speaking their heart language, a Hispanic family and dressing room attendant, another black family doing some shopping with the grandkids, a teen cowgirl and her grandma trying on prom dresses together (adorbs!), and a middle-aged white lady who had about 200 items in her basket. We all had to take turns waiting for each other to use the three rooms they had open, so we all got to know each other pretty well (other than the fact we couldn't speak each others' languages for the most part :)
If only I had a vacuum to suck up the mess the store has obviously abandoned in their closing efforts (or lack thereof) I would have been as happy as a bug in a rug (there were a few of those too . . . :)

Those dresses look so cute on the girls....and you can't go wrong with the prices. When is the homecoming dance?
