Tiger and Couch

Graysen made this mask at Sunday School and has worn it daily (well, until he got the fever he's had for the past 27 hours, poor kid). He sings, "I'm Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, I'm Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood!" to the tune of the new Mr. Roger's Neighborhood cartoon on PBS :)

And, because my sis asked for them . . . here are a couple of pics of our new couch. There was a crazy good deal on them at Costco (less than half price!) and our former couch was the floor model we bought when a business went out of business 9 years ago now? It has been through the wringer and was ready to retire. So, when Buck called to say, "There is a ridiculous deal on this sectional," we accepted the truckbed assistance of a co-worker and he brought the couch home! It's very similiar to the California couch he loved, but we left behind. The cushions are sewn in place so no more rearranging!! It doesn't quite fit the historic style of our home, but it doesn't sink down to the floor where the springs are missing either :) A few throw pillows and some pictures on the wall, and I think we will be all set!

This purchase turned our house upside down, partially because I couldn't part with the giant chair that matches our old couch, so we had to do some creative re-strategizing when it came to furniture layout. Something in every room but the kitchen moved. This also inspired my husband to fill the garage with items for sale this weekend . . . we gave a few outgrown toys to the church and let some friends (you know who you are :) pre-sale shop for a few items they've had their eye on, and we didn't know we were going to sell until today, so it all worked out well for everyone! Yay!

We'll see if we can move the rest of the stuff out of the garage and into happy homes. If not, the Salvation Army called and they can have all they want of it (but hopefully we'll make back the couch purchase and call it a wash . . . that would be awesome! :)
This is one confused puppy . . . he didn't know what to do with himself, all the cleaning and rearranging, and new smells and old smells now outside. Might as well take a nap :)

This could easily have been titled "Couching tiger, smelly lego."

Colorado

We took the world's fastest--and slowest--trip to Colorado for Buck's stepmom's memorial service. I say fastest, because it took...
