High school girls (my group!) decorating our youth pastor's wife (also leads my group) like a snowman. I was wearing a snowman ugly sweater, so I was disqualified from being turned into a snowman (I've also been told it's too cute to be ugly). Over the speaker system, "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" rang out. The girls finished our snowwoman with a "Mrs. Snowmerica" sash like at a beauty pageant (after I took the group picture). I'll give you four guesses which group won the night ;)
Buck happened to have this day off, and his middle school group of boys were more than happy to decorate him like a snowman (btw, his ugly sweater lights up with LED and says "Yeti to Party" in gold sequins across the top :) He got third place, but he's always first in my book!
It was pretty crazy in there for awhile, toilet paper sailing through the air like a high school homecoming . . .
And then the saran-wrap game. Kids unrolled a saran-wrap ball filled with prizes (like gift cards, dollar bills, gum, and moist towelettes). The next person rolled dice until they got doubles (or six rolls with no doubles), and then the ball moved on to the next person in the circle. The unroller had to wear mittens, but that didn't seem to slow down the kids who got in a groove.
The kids' friend learned how to burn designs into wood and made all of these kids their own, personalized tree ornament! She even drew the designs herself. Very thoughtful :)
I didn't see this artistic work until the picture arrived in a text later that night. I said to G$, "How did you get that marker off?" He said, "With the moist towelette I unwrapped from the saran-wrap ball." Lol! And here the YP's wife was teasing him for including such an odd "prize."
All the lady leaders in attendance that evening . . . and the deer head. Such a fun and God-loving group of ladies ❤🎄
