While breakfast was cooking the next morning, the majority of the Crew decided to go for a wander in the woods on the hiking trails just out our back door. We decided the abundance of orange in our collection should accompany them on their walk, as we'd seen hunters in the park and heard some shots fired in the distance. Even baby Daisy got some orange, so cute!
Buck, Brennen, and Graysen settled into a blind on the second day of hunting. Noah went to visit his best man from the wedding in the nearby town where he lives. He also picked up some sugar for Caelan to finish making the scotcharoos she brought along all the other ingredients for :) Later that afternoon, we were all excited to hear that Graysen got a big buck! Three deer in one trip--super exciting!
That night for dinner, my cousin L brought sliders and soup. I had already planned to make sandwiches and soup, so it worked out great! We pulled out the leftover salads from other meals and had ourselves a winter feast :) Her twin's fiancé joined us for dinner, as did my aunt and uncle--recently returned from a birthday trip up north. It was great to have so much family in one room! We got some of the wedding planning updates and got to hear all about how my cousin's science lab celebrates a certain basketball player's birthday every year (scientists are funny!) I got in on the birthday love with a batch of fresh cupcakes baked by the scientist cousin--such a fun treat to savor while the "kids" played another round of poker after the extended family left.
It is fun to see them make memories together! And Noah maintained his lifetime record of always winning poker games . . . but he's got some competition coming down the lines as the others learn the rules and strategy :)
