Brennen was impressed with himself when he saw the picture up there and has been practicing the one-eyed cross for the remainder of the day :)
It was super cold out, so here's a behind the scenes look at the pre-picture warmth attire :)
Graysen's outfit is even *better* than Gabby's--shorts, superman socks, camo shoes :) He didn't seem to feel the cold, but was willing to throw on a nice sweater while the chicken tried to peck at his face ;)
Gabby's chicken kind of lost its head at the end there . . . haha :)
They tried for a really long time to lure Brennen's chicken to be caught for her photo op--she wasn't having it! She hid under the shelter part of the coop and when she did come out, totally disappeared into thin air when he tried to grab her. My chicken, Honey, was much more willing to be cooperative, so she made a guest appearance in place of Zaxby/Princess Fluffy Buns. It was too cold for drama, ha!
Oh, I almost forgot--I randomly decided today was the day for pictures. The birds, on the other hand, randomly decided today was the day for dust baths :) Brennen said, "Mom, they are all taking dust baths under the coop." Sure enough, a cloud of sandy brown was rolling out through the chicken wire. I guess they wanted to look nice for their photos, but it did delay our process awhile ;)
