Baking with My Sweetheart

I didn't grow up eating gingerbread cookies, but have in recent years become convinced this is a part of Christmas celebratory eating :) The girls have baked cookies, fudge, more fudge, even more fudge, shortbread, more cookies, puppy chow, and yes, more fudge. We've also gotten goodies in the mail, from neighbors, and when my mom dropped in pre-flight. We are swimming in sugar . . . but I bought molasses, and we're baking gingerbread!

But everyone was baked out, even G$ who was begging his sisters to gingerbread with him for a week was like, "Eh," when I was recruiting. That's when my cookie hero stepped in, "I'll bake cookies with you!" said Buck. Yay!!

And I might just have to add . . . they are the most amazing gingerbread cookies ever baked on the planet! Seriously delicious, fluffy, gingery, oh yummy! I told the kids it was because they were baked with a special ingredient . . . love ;) Also--we are amazing at selfies, ha!

He has the girls make HIM chocolate chip cookies almost weekly :) We got the Joanna Gaines cookbook and it has her cookie recipe in it, and now that's all he wants, ALL the time :)
