Memories

I remember loving the muffled quiet inside a snow house when I was a kid. Today ours built some snowy memories of their own.

"It's so cool and shady inside!" Which is a funny thing to say in the winter, but we were back to no coats today in the sudden thaw :) *Okay, not in these pictures because they were playing in the SNOW, but when we went to the grocery store and karate* The sun was downright warm, so they looked forward to diving into their snow dome for a break from it's intensity (that description might be a bit dramatic of me :)

I thought it was pretty clever that they built the entrance higher than the tunnel down, then back up "to block the wind." . . I don't know if they learned this long ago on the episode of Curious George where that mischievous monkey builds an igloo (then later moves it into the living room, so he can sleep more comfortably) or maybe all the Alaska shows they watch with their dad is their source of winter construction knowledge.

Either way, it was an almost weeklong process, helped by two big storms, and their igloo dreams have come true :)
