This little hum-dinger showed up and snowed my sweetie in! But he cannot be deterred from getting to work, even on a Super Bowl kind of day. Funny enough though, our "didn't make it to church" streak continued--not much we can do when we're healthy and ready to roll and they cancel services (for the first time EVER) due to the weather :)So, Buck looked at our unplowed neighborhood, judged the angle of the hills vs. our current vehicle selection, and then checked his work schedule spreadsheet. Wouldn't you know another fellow in town was on for the same schedule and had four-wheel drive?!
Buck tucked in to Grandpa L's overalls and a Broncos cap, took a grocery bag with extra shoes, and off he went to hike over the hill, up the hill, down the hill, and to a local business that is closed for the winter. Whipping wind and snow didn't stop my Alaska/Mountain man :)
He made it to and from work safely with his co-former-Alaskan work buddy, and even caught a few minutes of the big game! The kids spent the day alternately braving the brisk, snowy world, and striving to finish their math books ahead of time ($1 bonus, wink, wink :) I do love a fresh school workbook . . . ahhh, tomorrow (after I remember where I stashed the second round of arithmetic pages at the beginning of the school year :)
