Well, our night at the hotel went fairly well! The beds were super squeaky and hard as a rock--but the carpets were new and clean. So clean, I stepped on them barefoot--if you know me . . . this does not happen, pretty much ever, in hotels. :) It was so nice to have connecting rooms, so everyone had a bed--even if the floors were clean enough to sleep on ;) Plus, having two showers to move everyone through in the morning was a huge help!It was also fun to meet up with the cousins in the breakfast area. It's amazing how much hotel breakfast has changed over the years! So many options--mostly ones you'd eat ;) Buck and I sat at a giant high top with all the kids . . . ours and my cousins'. Buck was cracking up at some of the looks we got with *our* six kids--ages 14 to 7 :) The kids even sat in stair-step order (for the most part). I'm sure the starers thought we were pretty smart to travel with our two nannies (Linda and Laura) and a Grandma at tables nearby, ha!

I can't hardly describe how COLD the weather was that day, whoa baby! Reports of snow made us imagine the same in our location, though truly the flakes didn't fall. After breakfast and check out, we found the church and our family . . . wow, a lot of them . . . quick math . . . a couple dozen? and found our seats.

My brothers took the stage and their fun youth minister introduced the dozens of kids completing their confirmation classes that morning. Logan got a little shout out for sleeping through the first service, but making it to the second, hee hee :) Pretty exciting for all the audience kiddos trying to keep quiet to get to jump up and cheer and whistle for the Confirmation Class of 2017 :)
After church, my phone wouldn't load the internet . . . probably the freezing weather, I can hardly blame it for being finicky ;) So, when we saw my brother-in-law and sister heading out of the parking lot just across from us, we thought, "Perfect! They live around here, we'll just follow them!" They seemed kind of slow to take the lead, but we figured they were just being polite. A few seconds later I get a text [paraphrased], "Do you know where the restaurant is? We're not sure how to get there." I texted back, "We're following you, because we don't know either and our GPS won't work." Ha! Silly family :)

Oh, and when we got home, since we've had AC issues at the house, the whole system was turned off--it was 56 degrees in the house! Yikes! We flipped on the fireplace, turned the furnace thingy back to "winter," kicked up the heater, pulled out the heat dish from the closet, and found as many extra blankets as we could. Seriously. Where did spring go??!
